MagyarOK is a textbook series of four-volumes that takes students from the A1 level up to the advanced B2+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (The plus signs in the titles indicate that, after completing a volume, the learner's knowledge will be slightly above the level.)

The textbook and workbook together are the alpha and omega. All further material is based on them.
The series provides students and teachers with well-structured materials based on the latest research in linguistics, and follows the Model-based Approach to Language Teaching developed by its authors. This approach focuses on real/natural language use. Before producing language, you will be presented examples (models) of how competent speakers are likely to solve the given task. These models cover all aspects of language of content (thematic vocabulary, conversational strategies) and form (grammar, intonation and pronuncation). This enables you to participate in meaningful interactions right from the outset.
An intensive, yet gradual progression awaits users of this book. It develops all skills equally and provides solid vocabulary and grammar knowledge at beginner level.

What do we focus on at A1 level?
- You build up basic knowledge in small steps by continuously repeating and expanding what you have learnt so far.
- The focus lies on everyday communication and its frequently used language elements.
- You acquire some learning strategies as well as solid grammar basics and ways to build up linguistic knowledge starting from a communicative situation. Audio and video materials facilitate learning through various sensory channels.
What does the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages say about this level?
- You are able to make simple contact if the other person is willing to repeat what they say a little more slowly or phrased differently, or to help you formulate what you say.
- You can ask and answer questions that express concrete everyday needs.

- A1 kompakt: 251 pages
- A1+ textbook: 216 pages, A1+ workbook: 112 pages
For beginners, the MagyarOK A1+ and MagyarOK A1 kompakt are available. What is the difference between the two volumes?
MagyarOK A1 kompakt is, as the name suggests, a shortened version of MagyarOK A1+. MagyarOK A1 kompakt is recommended instead of MagyarOK A1+ or students who want to quickly get to grips with everyday situations and simple communication situations, but do not necessarily want to go beyond A1 level, or who have less time to complete the course material. MagyarOK A1+ contains fourteens chapters while MagyarOK A1 kompakt only has eight, but all the core material for the A1 level is included into the shorter volume. You will find pronunciation exercices and lists of useful phrases in both volumes. The A1+ workbook is included unchanged at the end of MagyarOK A1 kompakt. All audio materials and supplementary materials, the digital materials, can be used with both volumes. The most important difference is that MagyarOK A1+ has more reading texts and exercises and includes tasks to the videos on our YouTube channel.

- Students who have mastered this level are able to exchange information in simple, routine situations in a simple and direct way about everyday activities or topics.
