We will review the structure and differences between the A1 and A2+ reading books. The workshop will also address usage-based models of language acquisition, exploring why it is beneficial to learn in clearly defined contexts with the help of multiple language models. We will examine what learning in context actually means, and discuss the identifiability and teachability of lexical units.

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore how longer texts can be integrated into language learning.

• Differences between the A1 and A2 reading books

• How to work with longer texts

• Interactive group work with texts

• Role plays in the language classroom

• Teaching lexical units

• Using expression cards
